We have just returned from a camping trip to the South Island of New Zealand. Our new Lone Rider tent was the ultimate! We averaged 500km per day and were on the road for eleven days. At the end of each day, when we were tired, the Lone Rider was effortless to put up and had ample height and storage for both of us, the bike and our gear. We are a couple in our mid sixties and the Lone Rider tent with its standing head room makes moving around and getting dressed so much easier for riders of our vintage than the two person pup tent and bike cover we have used on previous trips. The Lone Rider sat nicely on the bracket which we fabricated to suit the mounting brackets for the windshield on our Harley Davidson Heritage Softail. Having our own tent saved us massively on accommodation costs and also meant we could "wing it" without having fixed destinations. Easier to get a tent site at short notice than a cabin or motel room. We used holiday camps which are equiped with bathrooms and cooking facilities and cost approximately $50 per night, compared with a cabin or motel unit which were $120 to $280 per night. So we reckon our tent paid for itself on it's first trip. Super impressed with our Lone Rider tent. Top marks Lone Rider, for customer service, prompt delivery and an outstanding product.

We haven't been tent camping for a very long time. This tent kept us warm & dry. It also kept the bugs away!!! We didn't have our motorcycle under cover (even though it fit very well) because it was ok to be outside. So... we used that area as a vestibule. We put a couple chairs inside and it was awesome to have a sitting area under cover. We are looking forward to going again soon.
The quality is excellent and it is very lightweight for packing on the bike.
Thanks.
Rejean H.
Tente d une bonne grandeur pour 1 personne et son equipement. J'ai déjà eu une autre modèle semnlable d un autre fabriquant et au final j aime mieux celle -là.
Facile a monter et de bonne qualité.
Ian T.
Love this tent. Easy to put up and take down and plenty of room inside. Highly recommend.

I bought the Lone Rider tent for a Lake Superior circle tour and it worked great! It took up more luggage space than my 2 person tent but the extra room it provided was well worth it for storing bags off the bike. Thankfully, I didn't need to make any repairs on the trip but knowing I had shelter from the elements if needed was also worth it.
Mark P.
This tent worked amazingly. Set up super easy with the colour coded poles. the first I took it time camping and the ground was super hard and I was worried that the tent pegs would bend from pounding them into the ground but they held up perfectly and did t bend. I love the fact that I can put my bike into the garage and keep it out of the elements. I highly recommend this tent for anyone who does motorcycle camping.
Thomas D.
5 nights so far, set up is easy enough, materials I thought would be thicker, I’m also trying to find the sweet spot between being to tight or loose when setting up to where zippers work properly
Brett C.
I owned the ADV tent however I’ve decided I wanted to be a bit more comfortable so I got the Mototent. I’m so happy with it. I was concerned it might be too big to be practical but after a week long road trip using it every day, it’s actually only taking me 10mins or less to set up.
There’s heaps of space and I’m glad to have no breeze come through unless I want it.
It’s definitely the most expensive camping item I have purchased but worth every cent too!
Andrew
Awesome tent. Look forward to my next adventure
Chad P.
Have really enjoyed the tent! Would highly recommend it!
Dan K.
I was on the TWAT and UPAT ride for about 18 days. After the first real use I was overly surprised of the room. Both the garage and tent were perfect. Air flow through the tent was well. I did check wind direction before most set ups if possible.
Easy up and down. Pockets and hooks came in good use on heavy morning dew. Stayed dry through rainy night.
Highly recommend.
Paul
Spacious tent that is actually easier to erect than a small two man tent!!
Great pack size, easy to fit in the supplied dry bag.Excellent quality, highly recommend
Kamil K.
Absolutely love it. I've taken it on a number of trips at this point, the longest being a 5 day ride through bear country up in Northern Ontario. Quick to set up, stable in the winds, and just the peace of mind that comes with having a large shelter to gear up in while staying out of the rain is amazing.
Eric D.
At first, this is a good product !
Waterproof, quick to install and to unsinstall, big enough for two and a lot of stuff, you stay in it and don't need to stand on your knees, smart design with organisers for your stuff, ...
So why didn't I put 5 stars ?
because of two things:
- it is fine for dry areas but miss some aeration for cold / moist places where condensation make it rain in the tent while it is waterproof ! no water from outside enters, but water from inside falls down in the tent ! Aeration vents in corner fix panels would surely fix this.
- there could be a little more tensionners to ensure the tent stability with great winds. Sometime the tent is moving a lot.
Anyway w use it a lot, but we pay attention to the conditions where we go and sometime have to let the doors open to ventilate the internal air in the tent.
Andre T.
For anyone looking for a spacious tent that packs fairly small the moto tent is the way to go. Well constructed and yes.. if you repack it properly it will fit easily in a king tourpak, with a bunch of other stuff too! Will update this once I have properly use it. So far so good!
Stephen
Awesome big tent and compact
Colin J.
Worked fantastic on the Dalton highway on our way to and from prudhoe bay ak

Absolutely awesome tent

Brought this for my partner and he loves it. Easy to set up and down.
Speedy delivery. A+++

This is a great touratech rally event tent!!!…
Get a lot of compliments from riders walking by and asking questions how comfy that looks…
Chris Martinez
Love this tent. So much space, but was so easy to set up. I can't believe a tent this size packs down so small. The Bike Garage is an awesome idea. I love it. Would definitely purchase again.
ZHANG W.
good products! can't wait to show these to my friends now!
Daniel R.
Very nice tent, lot of space. Built strong. Love it
David D.
Excellent materials and craftsmanship! Tent is fair price for the quality. Awning kit is way overpriced for what it is. Look forward to using it for a cross country trip later this month.
Phill S.
What a fantastic piece of equipment!
I did one trial run at home before travelling... it took 15min the first time and was very easy to set up.
Out on the road I took it through all kinds of conditions including storms in the alpine areas. It kept me and my bike 100% dry and wasn't affected by the strong winds.
It sits fine strapped on the pillion seat.
Funny seeing the look on people's faces rolling into a camp-site on a motorcycle and having something this big set-up within 10min... I was also on my way again quicker than people packing up their rooftop tents. So easy to pack away!
It's so nice to have so much room!
I can't wait to get back out on the road with my mobile house
Stuart
Best tent I've ever had....highly recommend
Robbie S.
Great tent, just what we were looking for in a moto camping tent. Very well made!
Jamie Michael O.
Only set up once so far as a test run at the park near my house, easy setup and take down, I need to practice packing it a bit better, poles go in easy, tie downs set up nice, lots of room, il be able to fit my 2002 vfr800 in it no problem just gotta take my hard cases off first so I can walk around it easier
Thomas A.
Haven't got to use it in the field yet, but definitely looking forward to it. I can't tell you how many times I got stuck sitting uncomfortably in my tent during a rain storm. It's going to be nice being able to stand up to get dressed and keep gear/bike dry.
Darcy
This tent is going to be a game changer!!!!
Excited to use this on my adventures!!!
Mark P.
This is my second one!! Not cuz the first failed but I decided I needed two!! This is the best tent ever.
Lennard
Great tent, however they need to update their “how to” video as the product has has some changes but only minor ones.
JOSE C.
I have only set it up at my local park to practice setting it up. It looks great and has all the space I need for Moto camping! And when packed up is not as bad as others have said, fits fine on my Harley Davidson Pan America.
David
Love it. Worth every penny.
John H.
Day three into an epic journey around New Zealand, staying in Department of Conservation (DOC) sites and alike. 800km of riding complete with the tent on my passengers seat, against a givi top box, roll on lone riders toolbox. Loving it, can’t tell it’s there but with my macpac fold up table and chair the garage is an ideal place to chill. Still ahead of the cyclone hitting the north island, the further south I get the better the weather
David G.
Very comfortable tent. You can stay completely straight changing your clothes.
The only bad thing is that it should have a bigger floor mat for the entrance...
Michael
Great, it's massive but easy to set up and fits in the dry bag provided no problem
Hirofumi T.
I like it very much. Easy to install.
Neil B.
Goes up with ease and packs down a lot smaller than when it first arrived. Easily goes into my top box
Donald E.
I have a GS 2020, I bought the tent because I’m 6 foot one and the tent is tall and light weight. I have not used it in the real world yet. I set it up in my dog training center and I love it. I am from Virginia Beach Virginia and plan on traveling this year. Thank you.
Wisam A.
Absolutely love it, everyone asks about it wants one too.
Only issue is the trip hazard from the orange straps at the base of the garage area, but that depends on the ground situation I've learned.
Amandio
Easy and fast delivery.
The product is as good as advertised.
Trond
Ikke prøvd teltet enda. Men rask og godfrakt Venter på sommeren
Tom G.
Just very happy, with the ordering, delivery and setup/use of the tent.
Thank you...
Gavin
Haven't used it yet but I have one very similar love it so this newer one will be quicker to put up
Dan
Super simple to pitch and packs down to a reasonable size and weight. The Molle strap loops on the outside of the bag are particularly clever.
Marc
Really good well made where it counts spent 4 nights in it
Sean a.
Love the tent! The first one sent had some quality control issues but LR staff quickly delt with it in a professional manner. I will definitely recommend this tent. After a long ride this weekend it was awesome to have a sitting area out of the wind. My riding partner has one, we just faced them towards each other and relaxed. Great trip! great tent!
Sissel M.
I will not use it untill next season. But it looks to be both well and strong seams. And it is a perfect size.
Robert L.
I have traveled all around Maine with this tent in both rain and shine. I love it. Best tent I have used on my bike.
david j.
This tent cannot only be used for motorcycles but for ebikes too, set it up and it keeps my radrunner electric bike safe and dry and not left in the open on rainy days and nights amd out of sight from thieves, cheking and taking measurements to see if their pannier bags will fit my ebike frame, the tent itself is the best investment i made, a great of kit.
Ann W.
This is a great tent! The first time I used it we had a thunderstorm overnight that dropped about 4 inches of rain. We had put all the camp chairs and fire wood in my "garage" to keep them dry. I also stayed dry in the tent and enjoyed the storm without any worries. I love the idea of having a dry space to hang out in when it rains so I bought the awning kit. I can't wait to use it on my next camping trip. No more hauling tarps along!
Azeddine M.
Maintenant je suis protégé contre la pluie et le soleil grasse à cette parasol je soufre plus
Charles E.
Quick to set up, loved the space I would recommend this tent
Antonio F G.
I’m taking this tent In my journey above and beyond me but my dream as I started in East Falmouth MA USA and my final destination is Fortalezs CE Brazil 12000 miles that’s about a 10 week 93% off-road trip on my Ténéré 700.
Daniel Jakob A.
Really good space for cooking and relaxing in bad weather. Easy to set up . Lots of smart pockets and hooks
Only thing missing is a couple of vents for airflow in the tent during vi ad weather, it gets damp from condensation inside during the night.
Darren F.
Unfortunately it’s getting late in the season up here in northern British Columbia for tenting but couldn’t wait to set it up.
It was super easy and only took me 15 minutes on my first try!
Can’t wait to use it on my next adventure!
Jason N.
Absolutely love it, well made and thought out!!
Robert S.
The tent is a bit on the bigger side. Definitely for 2 people. Takes up a little bit more room on the bike. The stakes that it comes with are a great idea but I found that the cheap Amazon ones that look like big nails work better for harder ground. The material seems a bit thin and the way the tent stands it puts a lot of tension on the zippers where the bike/garage area is. I feel like a strap sewn into the material would help take some tension on the zippers and help promote longevity. Time to set up is about 15 minutes. Same for take down. Other riders that seen it set up mention that the garage area could double as a area for food prep or sitting area when the weather is nasty. I used it for 2 nights 1 out on the IDBDR. Overall a great tent that could use a few things but thats just my opinion.
Blake H.
Camped out on Steen's mountain for a few nights and rode the Steen's mountain loop on the adventure bike. My Lone Rider tent was the perfect tent for the journey. Packs small and light and easy to set up and take down not to mention the room inside the tent, was able to put my paniers and trunk inside with my sleeping gear with room to spare.
Yves M.
Very well made tent. Worth the money
Ben C.
An amazing tent that has been very well thought out for adventure riders. My partner and I are planning a long trip on our motorcycle that will see us travel from the east coast of Australia to the west coast return. We have tried 2 other tents and always felt they didn't fit our needs. After our 1st short trip away we knew the Moto Tent was exactly what we had been looking for. 100% recommend this tent to anyone.
cristobal p.
It is amazing, perfect for all kinds of adventures whether alone or accompanied, the quality of the materials is spectacular, which guarantees me the best experience in any weather condition and at the same time its garage allows me to sleep peacefully by not having my things out in the open
Trevor T.
Unfortunately I have only used the tent a couple of times. The one time it happened to be in a camping area covered in crushed gravel, which, caused have with my tent pegs. Broke two and scared up many others. The tent itself is awesome
Christian M.
I purchased the LoneRider MotoTent for all the reasons most people do. It offers the garage space, living space, and many features not offered on other similar tent platforms. What I discovered that LoneRider simply does it better than the rest! From the storage pockets to the interior doors that zip away to leave only the bug net door, it’s all done superbly, with a great deal of thought. Let me tell you, when I started my 2,500 journey through the Smoky and Appalachian Mountains, the weather predicted was dry, hot, and by many accounts, supposed to be perfect. What actually happened was about 800 miles of riding through literally thunderstorms with heavy rain. That garage space on the LoneRider MotoTent made for a pleasant unpacking experience each evening when I made camp. It took what could have been an unpleasant beginning to a trip, and made it great! I love this tent, and when it wears out, I’ll buy another. Though, as durable as is has been, and because LoneRider has an excellent selection of replacement pieces for their tents, I suspect I won’t have to do so for quite some time. Well done LoneRider!

I rode around Lake Michigan as a test run with the Moto Tent and an Overlander 48. The second day began with rain. But with my bike in the garage portion of the tent, I packed up everything (except for the tent) sheltered from the rain. That morning, I decided I'll never go back to a regular tent. Setting up and packing the tent is quick and easy, even by myself. I used the straps from the Overlander to attach both the bag and tent to my bike. Everything was easy to attach, and I was pleased with how secure everything stayed during the entire 1,300 miles (2,000Km). The tent fit me and my gear comfortably. Adding a second person and gear, might be a bit too tight. Having the garage as a second room to stay out of the weather, or to keep the bike away from curious eyes, is solid benefit. I will probably pick up the awning kit to provide shade for campsites with no trees. Being able to pack, and unpack, inside the garage of this tent makes it worth every penny, euro, or whatever you choose to spend. I forgot to take a picture of the tent set up...
Dominik Z.
Large entry room. Sleeping cabin perfect for 1 person. Also goes for 2 people, will be a little tight. Still need to practice a bit to get the right tension of the outer tent. But otherwise everything is great and easy to set up.
Darren S.
Bought it mainly for comfort. I used it once in my shakedown run for my 2 week trip in a week and a half. I always get lousy weather when I camp & bought it mainly for the “garage” to sit in when it pours and the ability to stand up. I’m 6’3” & it’s such a chore getting your motorcycle gear on in a tent plus I hate being stuck in a tent when it rains. This was easy to set up solo & quality is second to none. Heavy hit for me the comfort it brings out weighs that.
MICHAEL F.
Happy with how easy the tent was to use and that i was warm and the frost was kept off the bike.
Daniel H.
I received my Lone rider moto tent and set up up in the yard before heading out with it. This tent is amazing! Easy to set up and way more spacious then I had imagined. I highly recommend this tent!
Jamie B.
My Harley Fit perfect. It was raining when I set up so was a bit of a struggle as I never tried putting the tent up before I went on my trip, still only took about 15 minutes to get everything right. Was nice to keep the bike and all my stuff dry at night, hang wet coat etc. on the bike to dry and leave my boots and wet clothes out of the sleeping quarters. Also it was very nice to be able to stand up and get dressed etc. under cover from the rain. It was very quick and easy to pack away. The tent fit back in the bag very easy. I really like not having to crawl around to get dressed etc.
Thomas A.
Not only a true innovation in its category but also an amazing product. It's perfect for moto travel and that's what we want!
Richard B.
Good shelter, glad I got it. Next iteration needs to be capable of free standing. Steel stakes for real world application too.
Peter R.
Buy this tent and you will be the envy of all your riding buddies! The attention I got during the first few use's was amazing. LOVE the functionality - if the weather is poor, simply stay in the tent and do your cooking etc. Its so nice to be able to stand up, in private, and change clothes, boots etc. And if its raining, you can pack up your bike in the dry, and the tent is the last item you can quickly pack up and your golden. Customer service is #1 for any issues you may have. Worth every dollar!
Luc G.
Cool résiste bien au vent
Andy M.
Practiced a few times . This is a very well made product. Even teenage kid said, “ that’s badass dad”
Just FYI for those adventure motorcyclists who don’t pack the machine like a small mountain with spare tires, chains, BBQgrills etc. This tent is heavy and big. I actually just bought it because so many adventure bikers showed to have it. I am a bit concerned. Having said that. I am looking forward to having a more spacious, comfortable area. Compared to what I was using , this I think is gonna be worth the added weight. I paid $600 and it is worth every penny
Hubert M.
Love my tent, quality all the way thru, easy setup. Getting ready to take it out to Get On rally in Sturgis, SD
Gregory B.
Set the tent up for the first time yesterday 6/1/22. First impression was very positive. While a bit harder than I anticipated to set up, I am sure the next time will go much faster. Love the extra space for the bike and how well made the tent is. Will use this summer and report back. Definitely worth the money and glad I made the purchase.
Brit O.
Perfectly designed all around tent with or with out motorcycle!
Steven P.
This tent is fantastic. One day it rained so opened one side door put jammed some bike straps to door & pegs so water ran off & had room for my table, chair & little stove. The fact that bike & gear stayed dry & was able to walk around the bike to get into the boxes at front. Way better than the crappy tent I brought before that held moisture that made everything wet on inside.
Brochu D.
I greatly appreciate my initial opinion of the Mototent. Quality of the product as well as customer service are top notch. Although some may prefer the more compact ADV, my choice between the two was based on having a vestibule in which I can standup and also prepare meals on those rainy days. Easy assembly.
Shane M.
I received my Lone Rider tent promptly and although it is not camping season in my area yet I was able to unpack and set it up in my backyard. I was impressed with the quality of materials and the protective casings for the poles and pegs. The size is awesome and I would say compared to my present two person tent, the sleeping area is generous. Attention to little details such as the colour coding, the accessory hooks inside the tent for hanging and securing are just the little things that make everything better. I am looking forward to getting out for an actual camp soon. Great product!
Larry Z.
Quality is well beyond my expectations. I ride a Kawasaki Concours which is 40 inches wide at the saddlebag guards and it fits perfectly. The "cabin" is roomy and comfortable. I definitely recommend it to others.
Chris H.
AWESOME VALUE! Worth the price. Mounted on my R1250GS ADV 2000 mi trip Ohio to FL. Easy to set up(watch the videos first). I camped in Tellico Plains, TN (40-68 degrees) and although the tent was not heated I was dry and comfortable. In Pensacola, FL (70-90 degrees) I camped by the beach and let the ocean breezes cool me at night. The moto tent is vented so well that despite the heat I was very cool at night. It poured on me on night but I was completely dry and comfortable in my moto tent. In TN kept my R1250GS in the tent and each morning was dry despite the morning dew on everything.
Richard K.
While I have only put it up in my basement, it went up super easy and I love that I didn't have to fold it exactly right to fit back into the bag with the poles and pegs(the pegs I'll probably store somewhere else anyways, why risk puncture on a fall). As far as standing up inside, it beats regular tents by a mile and at 5'9" I can easily stand straight up in the motorcycle area. The inner tent, because of the air circulation space, not quite, but close enough and so much better than regular tent heights.
Douglas B.
Really like the design and material quality. Found it easy to set up. Looking forward to using this tent this spring.
thomas l.
Love in northern Alberta Canada , haven’t had a chance to use it yet, not quite warm enough yet. Lol
Scott M.
loooks great in the package ...their is still snow on the ground
Steve W.
Watching the snow melt, so I set it up in the living room. Grabbed a cold one, a candle and had a great time
Bosko J.
Bit of work needed to set the tent in windy conditions, but it provided grate place to by during windy and cold night. Kept the bike out and used garage as kitchen space and seating area. Cannot wait for my next trip
Paulo
Magnifique tente, pratique, et espacieuse. Vraiment un super achat.
